When I started this series, I planned on making myself write every single day but sometimes life gets in the way. I skipped journaling or whatever we’re calling this over the weekend due to attending a baby shower for two of our best friends. And you know what? I’m glad I did.

My wife helped put together a wonderful shower, we saw a whole bunch of old friends, and we hit the reset button which was much needed.

This weekend was the perfect reminder that all good things take time. This brand is no different.

For example, nearly every person we got to see, we went to college with, so we’ve known them since we were teenagers. Yet, everyone is prospering, having children, growing their family or careers and generally coming into their own. We’re all figuring out life and adulting but it’s taken time to break bad habits and learn from our mistakes but all of us have fostered our relationships through it all. My buddy recently bought the house we were staying in and they are in the process of renovating it which comes with a myriad of headaches.

But in time, they will have a beautiful place to call home. I could not possibly be more excited for them to welcome their first daughter and get to see her grow up around those people and in that house, flaws and all.

It’s easy to get caught up in what’s going wrong, when there are so many more things going right all around us. I experience it first hand all the time but this weekend was the perfect reminder to not rush life or Duck & Wave. It will be what it’s meant to be in time and until then I hope you and yours continue to stack good days.
